6 Countries I Want To Visit Based On Their Tourism Slogan
I saw a really bad slogan on a tourism board advert the other day, which led me down a Google blackhole of tourism slogans – and I must admit it wasn’t pretty, so many are a such a big let down! It was like back in the olden times when…
Hoi from Groningen
It may be pronounced a bit like ‘Groan’ but it’s the place I’m least likely to groan in the Netherlands and everyone should circle it on their respective travel maps. I say Groningen – or Grunn, but it’s actually a small town outside called Dullsville which I called my hometown…
My Travel Regrets
Saving money on the wrong things I thought it was right to save money by not going to places or doing things and looking back it’s kind of stupid because because I missed out. From now on I know that I should do them anyway and worry about money later….
6 Places to Eat and Drink in Reykjavik
Despite the cold, Reykjavik is more than hot in the culinary department, with everything from artisan pizza joints to addictive lobster soup and cheesecakes so good you’d swap your grandma for one more bite. So, whether you’ve been blasted by a geyser, are drying off after the Blue Lagoon or…
Cinque Terre: the highlights and lowlights
4/5 of the Cinque Terre villages: Vernazza, Corniglia, Monterosso al Mare, and Riomaggiore. The five coastal villages with coloured houses, little boats and dramatic mountains form the perfect Instagram background. Seriously, you walk into one of the towns, and it’s like you enter a behind the Instagram scenes set. Although…
Look At All These Places I Won’t Go To In 2016
Today is the day for the list with places I want to go to next year, but probably won’t because it’s either dangerous, way too expensive or for some reason an unrealistic destination. Out of all Indonesian islands Java had always at the top of my to-go list. I would…
Love this post!!! I have to agree with number one “seeing the sunrise,” that is always a special, important experience for me wherever I travel… it grounds you and helps you realize however different or foreign the place we find ourselves in the familiarity of dawn and the beginning of a new day affects us all.
I also love hearing other travelers’ stories…those forever will be some of my best memories abroad.

Great list! Good reminder that sometimes the little things make a world of a difference.
This reminds me so much when we went backpacking on Southeast Asia! How I miss traveling!
Travel sure makes one feel grateful for the little things, huh?
It’s JPei
And it also makes the little things grateful for travel 😀
Love the feeling of getting off the plane!
I love this idea. It’s so true. Travel itself is such a magical experience. You have to remember all the little moments. A night alone in a 12 bed hostel is a luxury! :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯
you are right the best things in travel are free
Gaining a beautiful sunrise oh yes, I normally photograph these. An upgrade on a flight never managed it but well done, on a ten hour flight even better. I flew on my birthday and still it didn’t happen. Enjoyed reading this post Lucy x
Such a great list! All these things are awesome, expecially the snore free hostel room!
Ah man this makes me want to go travelling so bad. Great post, as always. xx

Yup! Ironically, travel showed me how to enjoy the little, free things in life, and how to cherish moments we often take for granted while at home. Great post.
