Take A Hike
We’ve all had this right? When you’re on a long hike up to a temple, forest, abandoned hotel or just a Starbucks and your mind starts to wander, well here’s my brain vomit from my trip up Kotor Fortress Walls – a thigh-burning 1350 ‘steps’, or 4.5 km: This is…
Things I already miss from Japan
Besides the jet lag and figuring out how to get out of the Escher painting otherwise known as Shibuya Station, Japan is treating me good. I have a few days left, but I know I am going to miss more than a few things from the land of the rising…
4 Free (Almost) Things To Do In Wroclaw
Wherever you are visiting in the world, there is always somewhere you can go where you will find great things to do for free. I’ve written about such places in cities both cheap and expensive, and now it’s the turn of Wrocław in Poland. Here’s your first free experience before…

Random thoughts on my flight back home
Ugh, the flight back home has to be the worst part of the trip right? You’re moving further and further away from your adventures, topped off with the endless waiting, making yourself comfortable ends up in yoga-like poses on your seats, the food … you just can’t wait till it’s over. Here are…
When Travel Gives You Lemons
Kew Gardens’ revamped Temperate House re-opened the other day and it’s all over the press and Instagram this weekend. I went a few weeks ago and found the place a lot more building site than world class botanical garden. It was a ‘glass half-empty’ kind of experience for me, I…
Love this post!!! I have to agree with number one “seeing the sunrise,” that is always a special, important experience for me wherever I travel… it grounds you and helps you realize however different or foreign the place we find ourselves in the familiarity of dawn and the beginning of a new day affects us all.
I also love hearing other travelers’ stories…those forever will be some of my best memories abroad.

Great list! Good reminder that sometimes the little things make a world of a difference.
This reminds me so much when we went backpacking on Southeast Asia! How I miss traveling!
Travel sure makes one feel grateful for the little things, huh?
It’s JPei
And it also makes the little things grateful for travel 😀
Love the feeling of getting off the plane!
I love this idea. It’s so true. Travel itself is such a magical experience. You have to remember all the little moments. A night alone in a 12 bed hostel is a luxury! :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯
you are right the best things in travel are free
Gaining a beautiful sunrise oh yes, I normally photograph these. An upgrade on a flight never managed it but well done, on a ten hour flight even better. I flew on my birthday and still it didn’t happen. Enjoyed reading this post Lucy x
Such a great list! All these things are awesome, expecially the snore free hostel room!
Ah man this makes me want to go travelling so bad. Great post, as always. xx

Yup! Ironically, travel showed me how to enjoy the little, free things in life, and how to cherish moments we often take for granted while at home. Great post.
