Things I already miss from Japan
Besides the jet lag and figuring out how to get out of the Escher painting otherwise known as Shibuya Station, Japan is treating me good. I have a few days left, but I know I am going to miss more than a few things from the land of the rising…

the year in 15 Instax moments
Are you already bored of all the Year In Travel Lists that have formed a coup and taken over the travelblogosphere? Not wanting to disappoint here’s my addition, but don’t worry there’s no repeated copy/pasted content here or some long essay, but 15 (actual) instant moments I snapped which sum…

My 20 For 2020 – An Update
At the start of the year I put together what I thought would be a realistic and hopeful list of 20 things I wanted to see, do or make in 2020. We’re four months in and I thought I’d do a little round up of where I’m at. Sure I…
16 (Almost) Free Things To Do in Melbourne
I spent 6 months in Melbourne for an internship. On my first day I was shocked when I bought ONE banana for almost €1.50 and I wondered how the hell I was going to make it in one of world’s most expensive cities to live in with a tight budget….

Lomo Love: the failed Melbourne film

Love this post!!! I have to agree with number one “seeing the sunrise,” that is always a special, important experience for me wherever I travel… it grounds you and helps you realize however different or foreign the place we find ourselves in the familiarity of dawn and the beginning of a new day affects us all.
I also love hearing other travelers’ stories…those forever will be some of my best memories abroad.

Great list! Good reminder that sometimes the little things make a world of a difference.
This reminds me so much when we went backpacking on Southeast Asia! How I miss traveling!
Travel sure makes one feel grateful for the little things, huh?
It’s JPei

Love the feeling of getting off the plane!
I love this idea. It’s so true. Travel itself is such a magical experience. You have to remember all the little moments. A night alone in a 12 bed hostel is a luxury! :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯
you are right the best things in travel are free
Gaining a beautiful sunrise oh yes, I normally photograph these. An upgrade on a flight never managed it but well done, on a ten hour flight even better. I flew on my birthday and still it didn’t happen. Enjoyed reading this post Lucy x
Such a great list! All these things are awesome, expecially the snore free hostel room!
Ah man this makes me want to go travelling so bad. Great post, as always. xx

Yup! Ironically, travel showed me how to enjoy the little, free things in life, and how to cherish moments we often take for granted while at home. Great post.
