Southbank Impressions: Four Things to Do at the Southbank

Here are four  Things to Do at the Southbank in London – because there is more than the Eye.

REAL FOOD MARKET
Just behind the Southbank Centre you will find the Real Food Market – home over 30 traders selling food-from-around-the-world-to-go. Some of the highlights are Korean Burrito by Korrito, cake by Outside Tart, artisan coffee by Bean About Town, Indian fast food by the Indians Next Door and fresh bread by the Flour Station. The tasty smells, variety of food on offer and friendly atmosphere all add up to make it a great place to visit.
Opening hours Friday to Sunday. 12 – 6 pm.
CHECK OUT THE SKATEPARK
See skaters, BMXers and street artists showing off their skills at the Undercroft Space.
RELAX AT THE ROOF GARDEN CAFE/BAR
Follow the yellow stairs up to the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden for a stunning view of London. It’s a true oasis where you can escape the crowdy Southbank and enjoy the riverside views while having a coffee/tea or cocktail.
Opening hours
10am-10pm.
Open to public till late September.
OXO TOWER
Catch an (often free) exhibition at the The gallery @ OXO. The gallery showcases everything from photography to design and architecture.

  1. Indian fast food!?! Sound awesome! Have you tried all of those before? I’m adding it to my list for the next time I’m in London. I’m always looking for something new to do that’s non-touristy.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

  2. Thanks for the follow, love your blog! And this cute little video – I love Southbank, it’s such a creative little part of london and always something to explore there. I went to the food market over summer and had one of the most amazing burgers at a stand called bill or beak (or something like that!) Definitely a place to visit to anyone coming to London, your video captures it perfectly ^^
