My 26 For 2026 Goals

As we step into 2026, I’m setting myself 26 goals. The usual topics are here: London and UK travel, entertainment and hobbies, mindfulness and wellness, and blogging. But where I’d normally have a travel section, this time I’ve swapped it out for one of my new priorities – moving to Croatia. Here’s what I’m aiming for:

London/UK Exploration & Adventure

Even after almost 14 years, I still have things left I want to do in London and the UK. This year is about soaking up the city one last time before the move.

1. Summer Dip at the Lido in Holborn
Rediscovering swimming spots was part of 2025 and I want to continue that in the next year. I’m ready to tick off another London lido once Summer hits.

2. Match at the Gunners
Time to experience the atmosphere at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium… women’s team style though as I want to see more of that side of football.

3. Get Myself on 12 Solo Dates
Around town and my own borough. Just me, exploring. One a month to really see London through fresh eyes.

4. Go to the Wes Anderson Exhibition
I’m very excited for this! I’ve been to a few of his pop-ups at Studio 180, but this covers all my OG favourite films. Packing my binoculars as we speak.

5. Go to The Globe
It’s been a while since I went, but every time I see the Globe I think: I need a proper Shakespeare experience. ‘To Globe or not to Globe’… I think I know the answer.

6. See London From Above with the Battersea Lift
Checking out the Battersea Power Station glass lift. I’ve ascended to pretty much all of the London viewing platforms so it’ll be interesting to see what this one’s like.

7. Check Out the Micro Exhibition at the RCP Museum
Check out the current micro exhibition at the Royal College of Physicians Museum for a double dose of knowledge.

8. Try Five New-to-Me Food Places
I stick to the same food places because it’s just a waste to pay for disappointment. But I have a few I’m willing to risk it (my wallet) all for.

9. Day Trip to Norfolk
It’s been on the list for ages and I keep putting it off. Time to finally make it happen and explore the coast.

10. Pullman Train
Back on the list because I’m still waiting for the right moment. Fancy dining on rails, one last time.

Moving to Croatia Goals

The big one. These goals are about preparing for the move and setting myself up for life there.

11. Get My Driving Licence
It’s that time where I can’t avoid it any longer. For Croatia I’ll need a driving licence and I need to get mine while still in mainland Europe – there’s no way I’m doing this in London and then having to learn to drive on the right side, all while planning the move.

12. Come Up With a Packing Plan
At some point I need to start packing 13 years of London. Maybe I can pack one box for each box that comes into the house – keeping clutter at bay while staying organised, sort of thing.

13. Plant Orchard
Starting my orchard space to give me a kick-start to my self-sustainable life. Cherries, plums, pears, and peaches have been decided on. I just need to plant them at the right time.

14. Order Custom Book Cabinet
I don’t know much that I want in the house, but I know I want a book cabinet that also serves as a room divider. Need to start planning that as soon as we have a finalisation date.

15. Keep Expanding My Croatian Vocabulary
I’ve been working on this, but there’s always more to learn when it comes to languages. Especially the practical everyday stuff I’ll actually need.

Mindfulness & Wellbeing

Just a few things I want to (re)introduce to make my life better. Nothing revolutionary, just intentional.

16. Mobile-Free Weekends
Start with digital detox weekends to reset and recharge. A whole weekend without the phone feels radical but necessary.

17. Screen-Free Mornings by H2 of 2026
By the second half of the year, mornings will be about real life, not scrolling. Coffee, breakfast and peace before the digital chaos.

18. Halve My Mobile Time
By the end of the year, cutting phone screen usage by 50% and reclaiming time from the digital void. That’s hours back in my life.

19. Wear 50% of My Clothes
Actually wearing and enjoying the clothes I own instead of reaching for the same few pieces I wear until they fall apart. This will also hopefully help me declutter ahead of the move.

20. Low Buy Year
It’s also going to be an expensive year, where most of my money will go towards finishing building our house, so I want to put some of that money towards that instead of accumulating more stuff I’ll have to pack.

21. Back to No Sugar
Sugar and I don’t agree. Sugar’s been winning the battle lately, but it’s time to let it go and feel all the better for it.

Entertainment & Culture

Keeping myself entertained with simple pleasures through books, food, music, and photography. The low-effort, high-joy stuff.

22. Keep Updating Letterboxd
Maintaining my film logging. I stopped halfway through the year, but I really want that year-in-review round-up from them. Plus it’s nice to look back on.

23. Read My Balkan Book TBR
Read all my Dasa Drndić and Ismail Kadare books as part of adding more Balkan books to my collection. Getting properly acquainted with the literature from my home region means a lot to me, even more than I initially expected.

24. Document the Year
Whether through photos, journaling, or creative projects … capturing 2026 as it unfolds. It’s probably my last one in London, so I want to remember it properly.

Blog

In the blogosphere, there’s always room for improvement. Keeping it simple this year.

25. Publish 24 Posts
Easing my way back into blogging, my OG hobby. I don’t want to complicate it too much and see where it brings me between now and December 2026.

26. Update My Top Posts
I still have 20-ish posts that perform really well, but they need some love. Fresh links, updated info, and a bit of polish.

As always, these aren’t about perfection, they’re about intention. And yes, some will evolve, and some might fall away, but they will hopefully guide me a bit towards where I want to be.
