anteros piccadilly circus

* on a Sunday …

I want to start with a fun fact; This little guy at Piccadilly Circus is actually Anteros and not – as often mentioned – Eros. In Greek mythology, Anteros was the god of love returned and the punisher of those who scorn love and the advances of others, or the avenger of unrequited love. He was created as a twin brother for Eros, who was in danger of fading away from loneliness. Now your can impress your friends on any forthcoming London trips.

Team Confetti is probably my favourite feel good blog and when the lovely Olga asked me to join her guestbloggers team I was over the moon. This Tuesday my first guest post came online and I combined my love for films with lists and I wrote about 10 movies not to watch on a first date. It's in Dutch, but titles and trailers are international so definitely check out and maybe it will protect you from future romantic mistakes.

If you want to jump on the filter & dreamy photos bandwagon, Filtergrade is well worth investigating. They offer a wide selection of filters in the form of easy Photoshop actions, as well as helpful tips/tutorials. I am fan of the FilmStock which gets you the 70s vintage look that we all want to re-create without going through the whole analog photography process.

Where there is Mexican, there is Tea and although I have my favourites I do like to try out new places, last week I had the chance to see SW London's latest offering. El Patron combines delicious Mexican street food with a bar that will take you away to sunnier shores without even having to set foot outside of the M25. They have the usual burritos, tacos and quesadillas, alongside tortilla chips, different salsas AND last but not least – El Patron’s Secret Guacamole (I'll leave you to discover the secret). Meanwhile, at the bar – a hip-shaking playlist and signature drinks that go by the name of Escobar’s Secret, a Jalapeno and Blood Orange Margarita and The Scorpion can be found.

You might have come across it on Facebook on Twitter, but in case you haven't: Thrillophilia compiled this great list of 32 places that many people have mispronounced their entire life. It opened up a whole new world for me.

Which places have you been saying wrong all these years?

  1. Thanks for sharing that this is in fact Anteros. Oh, I think I have been saying many words wrong all these years 🙂 For example for me it’s still a challenge to say the name Sasha in the correct way 🙂
